About

It’s pronounced “about”, not “a boot”. And it’s zed, not zee!

Ok… so you clicked the “about me” link. What could you possibly want to know? I’m a Canadian guy born and raised in the City of Toronto (see this post for a brief overview of the Toronto municipal structure and history, coloured of course by my own views.) This is actually pretty rare, as most people in Toronto aren’t from Toronto. People I meet often say “wow, you’re really from Toronto!?” Yeah, it’s true.

Anyway, if you’ve read a few of my posts you might have guessed that I’m somewhat random. This blog allows me to verbalise (i.e., put into words) some of those random thoughts that pop in my head.  I also find great catharsis in writing, ranting or whatever it is I type on occasions that I am so motivated.

If you’re new to the site, you’ll soon notice that I talk about a lot of important things, like chocolate milk, the superior orange pop, swimming in the buff and proper urinal etiquette.

like your posts on chocolate milk. as a canadian agrologist and journalist i have been writing about the substitution of real milk with imported milk protein components (isolates) in cheese since last fall. they are posted on my website http://www.theholmteam.ca. the pressure for this is coming from large, transnational processors (saputo, parmalat and kraft) who operate in many countries and prefer a borderless world w/r/t sourcing ingredients and locating manufacturing. it is a very serious threat to canada’s farmers.

Parmalat choc milk no longer is a milk beverage -back to choc “milk”
